Gabby Salinas

Gabby Salinas is a Democrat running for an open seat in the Tennessee House of Representatives. If elected, she would be the first out LGBTQ woman and first Latinx person elected to the Tennessee legislature!

Salinas is a three-time cancer survivor, scientist, and healthcare advocate whose family immigrated from Bolivia to Memphis so that she could receive cancer treatment. She went on to earn a BS in Biochemistry and a Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences and has had her research published in the National Academy of Sciences.

Salinas previously ran for the TN Senate in 2018 and the TN House in 2020, very nearly beating an incumbent with 49.1 and 49.2 percent of the vote in each respective race. If elected, Salinas would be the first out LGBTQ woman and the first Latinx person ever elected to the Tennessee state legislature.
