LPAC Endorses Hillary Clinton for President
Nation’s only lesbian PAC launches Lesbians4Hillary.com to support Clinton’s run.

April 12, 2015 — LPAC, the country’s first and only lesbian political action committee, announced its board voted to endorse Hillary Clinton and her historic campaign for president. With unanimous support from the Board of Directors, LPAC becomes the first national LGBT organization to endorse Clinton’s campaign for the presidency. To support the campaign, LPAC is launching Lesbians 4 Hillary, a campaign that will be co-chaired by sports icon and humanitarian Billie Jean King, a longtime supporter of both LPAC and Hillary Clinton.

“We are proud to endorse Hillary Clinton as she begins her run for the White House,” said LPAC Board Chair Laura Ricketts. “Hillary is an unyielding advocate for LGBTQ women. Our endorsement today represents LPAC’s strong support of her candidacy.”

As part of the LPAC endorsement, the nation’s leading political action committee for LGBTQ women has launched Lesbians 4 Hillary (www.lesbians4hillary.com) The campaign will be an online and grassroots effort for LGBTQ women and our allies to join together to support Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign.

“Hillary’s campaign for president represents an historic opportunity for LGBTQ women of all ages and from all backgrounds to come together to elect a president who we know will stand with us,” said LPAC’s Executive Director Beth Shipp. “We are going to work tirelessly to ensure that in January of 2017, the first woman president will be taking the oath of office.”

“Hillary Clinton is a proven leader and she has a strong track record when it comes to inclusion — specifically for women and the LGBTQ community,” said Billie Jean King.  “Her entire career has been a road map to get her to this moment and she has earned my respect and my vote to become the next President of the United States of America. I am honored to join LPAC and help lead our effort to elect Hillary Clinton in 2016.”

LPAC builds the political power of lesbians by electing candidates who champion LGBTQ rights, women’s equality, and social justice. Since its founding in 2012, LPAC has grown into an influential grassroots political action committee, with members in 47 states and the District of Columbia. LPAC has raised over $2 million since 2012, and has invested in more than 40 races and independent expenditure campaigns throughout the country.
