LPAC, LGBTQ SUPERPAC, LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Washington, DC (JANUARY 16, 2018) — LPAC today formally launched a nationwide search for its next Executive Director. LPAC is a political action community for LGBTQ women and our allies and works to elect candidates who champion LGBTQ rights, women’s and gender equality, and social justice.

The search will be conducted by Gumbs + Partners, an executive search firm specializing in diversity recruitment in the non-profit arena, with a specialty in social justice organizations. A Board search committee chaired by LPAC Board Member Joyce Newstat, a long-time political activist and leader in the LGBT movement, will manage and guide the search and hiring process.

“LPAC is seeking a dynamic, inclusive, motivated leader with significant fundraising and political experience to serve as its Executive Director,” said Newstat. “LPAC is poised for growth, and is looking for a leader who can expand our political, fundraising, and advocacy reach, and can firmly establish the organization as a political home for LGBTQ women and their allies.”

Founded in 2012 as the first lesbian Super PAC (Political Action Committee), LPAC has transformed into a political power PAC supporting candidates in all major and local races.

“Our new Executive Director will take the helm at LPAC at a critically important political time,” said Laura Ricketts, LPAC Board Chair. “As we approach the 2018 mid-term elections and an uncertain, often hostile political climate for our communities, LPAC must focus on increasing our ability to support progressive candidates who champion our core values of LGBTQ equality, women’s rights, and gender, social and racial justice.”
