LPAC is a non-partisan values-based political action committee that builds the political power of lesbians by electing candidates who champion LGBTQ rights, women’s equality and social justice.

LPAC has implemented a values-based approach to investing in candidates and supports candidates who advance gender, LGBTQ and social equality. LPAC supports candidates at the local, state and federal level.

To receive an endorsement from LPAC, candidates are assessed on their commitment to the following issues:

  • Ending discriminatory treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals and their families;
  • Supporting sexual and reproductive freedom and women’s access to quality healthcare, and;
  • Furthering social, racial, and economic justice for all Americans.

LPAC also looks for candidates with demonstrated leadership on advancing LGBTQ rights, women’s equality and social justice, including but not limited to:

  • Introducing or moving legislation that advances LPAC’s values and goals;
  • Encouraging other policy-makers to act on issues important to LPAC, and;
  • Working to stop legislation, policies, or practices that harm lesbians and women.
