Carmen Rivera

Carmen Rivera is running for election for a seat on the Renton, WA City Council.

Rivera, a first time candidate, was the first place finisher in this summer’s primary election and well positioned to win the general. She has worked for many years in human and social services, most recently for King County, WA.

Her campaign is focused on providing more funding for workforce development and human and social services, supporting economic development, and increasing access to affordable housing. Rivera would be the only LGBTQ person on the City Council, and has earned support from a number of Democratic, labor, and LGBTQ groups.
