Chris Flanary

Chris Flanary is running for a seat on the Portland City Council in Oregon.

Flanary moved to Portland in 2013 to work for the Portland Housing Bureau after coming to Oregon from the East Coast as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer. They are a union organizer and work in local government.

This is the first time Portland will have an elected local government, due to a ballot measure that passed in 2022. There are four city council districts and three councilmembers will be elected from each district via ranked choice voting. Flanary is currently focused on voter education and fundraising.
