Jill McCabe ran for Virginia State Senate in 2015, losing in the general election.

McCabe, a pediatric ER doctor, ran for office after speaking out about the importance of Medicaid expansion from the point of view of a medical professional.

She serves as the Medical Director of three departments at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Virginia: the Pediatric Emergency Department, the Pediatric Hospitalist Services and the outpatient Concussion Program.
