Josey Garcia

Representative Josey Garcia is a Democrat running for a second term in the Texas House of Representatives.

Garcia was first elected in 2022, receiving 67 percent of the vote in a three-way Democratic primary. Prior to running for office, she served in the army under Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and is the first woman active-duty veteran to ever serve in the State House. As a child, Garcia moved through the foster care system, and now mentors and advocates for at-risk youth in the foster system.

Garcia is focused on youth issues, healthcare access, and sexual violence prevention.
