Kelly Cheatle is a Democrat running for the Rochester City Council, NY (at-large).
Kelly Cheatle’s unconventional art career has taken her around the world, designing and directing massive community-built sculptures. Her work—both in art and community organizing—has demonstrated the power of collective action, showing how people step up when given support and opportunity. She believes in creating spaces for collaboration and creativity, and she’s ready to bring her problem-solving skills to Rochester City Council.
Both light-hearted and lion-hearted, Kelly blends her expertise in design, logistics, and marketing with a deep commitment to equity and the arts. She fearlessly challenges the status quo when it fails the people and is a passionate advocate for informed, community-driven decision-making. A Guinness World Record holder and Silver Abby award winner, her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Make Magazine. She is also the co-author and illustrator of two children’s books.
