LaWana Slack-Mayfield

Councilmember LaWana Slack-Mayfield is running for re-election to an at-large seat on the Charlotte City Council in North Carolina.

Slack-Mayfield is a community advocate and activist who was elected to an at-large seat in 2022 and previously served on the City Council representing a district-based seat from 2011 to 2019. She was the first LGBTQ person elected to the City Council.

Slack-Mayfield’s priorities are promoting stable property values, smart economic development, and fostering strong community safety.
