Lucy Flores
Lucy Flores ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada in 2014.
She also ran for Congress in 2016 but lost a tight primary to Ruben Kihuen. Flores represented Nevada’s 28th District for two terms in the state assembly.
Flores, who moved to California, has since founded the Luz Collective, which challenges inaccurate journalism about Latinas in America.
In early 2019, she penned an essay in The Cut describing inappropriate physical contact by Vice President Joe Biden when he was supporting her run for lieutenant governor, which was published at the same time as a slew of similar allegations, as Biden jumpstarted his 2020 presidential campaign. (Biden denied that he “acted inappropriately.”)
