Sharice Davids

Sharice Davids was elected to the United States House of Representatives for Kansas’s 3rd Congressional District in 2018 and re-elected in 2020 and 2022. She is the first Native American woman elected to Congress, and first openly LGBTQ person to represent Kansas.

Davids was raised by a single mother, who served in the Army for 20 years. After graduating from Leavenworth High School, she worked her way through Johnson County Community College and the University of Missouri-Kansas City before earning a law degree from Cornell Law School. Rep. Davids understands the importance of quality public schools and affordable higher education. It is that foundation that allowed her to go on to a successful career, focused on economic and community development.

Her priority issues this election cycle are women’s rights, healthcare, and jobs. She serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure, Small Business, and Agriculture Committees.
