Sonya Jaquez Lewis is a Democrat running for re-election to the Colorado State Senate.

Sonya Jaquez Lewis is the Colorado State Senator for Senate District 17 and the Co-Chair of the Colorado LGBTQ+ Caucus. She is a registered Pharmacist and a past President of Boulder Pride. Jaquez Lewis is Boulder County’s first Latina and first member of the LGBTQ+ community elected to the State General Assembly.

In May 2024, Jaquez Lewis, along with Rep. Brianna Titone, led the charge to get Same Sex marriage on the Statewide November ballot and convinced six Republicans to support the measure.
