Susan Ruiz

Susan Ruiz is a Democrat running for re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives.

Ruiz was first elected in 2018, when she defeated a Republican incumbent by 5 percentage points. She serves on the Veterans and Military Committee, Social Services Budget Committee, and Children and Seniors Committee in in the State House.

Ruiz’s priorities are expanding Medicaid, fully funding public education, and promoting LGBTQ equality. She co-sponsored a House bill that would add sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression to the Kansas Nondiscrimination Act.
