LPAC Announces March 2023 Endorsement Slate
Washington D.C. (March 14, 2023) – LPAC, the only organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ women to local, state, and federal office is excited to announce our latest slate of endorsees.
The endorsement slate includes incumbent city council members who are leading essential work to protect LGBTQ and women's rights, as well as open-seat candidates who are seeking to lend their voices and expertise to the fight for social justice.

Emily Benedict, Metropolitan Nashville Council
Emily Benedict is seeking a second term on the Nashville Council after spending four years standing up for the LGBTQ community in the face of one of the most hostile state legislatures in the United States.
Mitra Jalali, Saint Paul City Council
Mitra Jalali is seeking a second term on the Saint Paul City Council. Jalali is currently the only openly LGBTQ person serving on the Council and has consistently advanced policies that support the LGBTQ+ community.
Andrea Jenkins, Minneapolis City Council
Andrea Jenkins was the first openly transgender Black person elected to public office in the country. She currently leads the Minneapolis City Council, having selected by her colleagues to serve as Council President in 2022.
Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford, Madison Common Council
Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford is a standup comedian and small business owner in Madison, she is seeking an open seat on the Council.
Veronica Pejril, Greencastle City Council (Indiana)
Veronica Pejril is finishing her first term on the Greencastle City Council in Indiana. Pejril was the first openly transgender person elected to office in the state, and continues to be the only openly transgender person serving in Indiana.
