LPAC announces board role changes for 2020
Washington, DC (January 22, 2020) – LPAC, the only organization devoted to building the political power of LGBTQ women, has elected board member Diane Felicio as board chair for 2020 (board terms are for one year, renewed annually). She succeeds Laura Ricketts, who held the role for five years.
Additionally, LPAC is excited to announce that Maureen Guthman is now vice chair, Shari Weiner is secretary, and Hilary Rosen continues in her role as board treasurer.
“Diane brings valuable experience from her role as COO of Community Catalyst, a leading nonprofit,” said Ricketts, who remains on the board. “She also demonstrated, as interim CEO of Community Catalyst last year, that she knows how to run an organization with efficiency, engagement, and passion. Under her leadership, LPAC is sure to thrive in this pivotal election year, and beyond.”
LPAC is embarking on an exciting new chapter in its eighth year, with a close focus on defending US House seats held by LGBTQ women and building the bench at the state legislative level. The organization also launched a nonprofit arm and released some of the first-ever research on LGBTQ women’s voting behaviors and preferences.
“I can’t wait to work more closely with Diane and other board leaders in these new roles,” said Executive Director Stephanie Sandberg. “They will help us build on the momentum of 2019 to have real impact in this crucial election year.”
