LPAC Celebrates Victories in Georgia, Kentucky, and Oregon Primaries
Today, LPAC, the national political organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ women and non-binary candidates, is thrilled to announce a series of significant victories in yesterday’s primary races across Georgia, Kentucky, and Oregon. These wins underscore the power and impact of diverse leadership committed to advancing equality and justice for all.
“These primary wins are a powerful testament to the growing support and recognition of LGBTQ+ women and non-binary leaders across the nation, particularly in states like Georgia and Kentucky where their voices are needed most,” stated Janelle Perez, Executive Director for LPAC. “Their victories are not just a win for our community, but for everyone who believes in a more inclusive and equitable society. In Georgia, four exceptional incumbents secured their positions:
Imani Barnes (GA HD-86): A trailblazer for her district, Imani continues to champion progressive policies and community empowerment.
Park Cannon (GA HD-58): Known for her unwavering advocacy for civil rights and LGBTQ+ issues, Park’s re-election is a testament to her effective leadership.
Kim Jackson (GA SD-41): As the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to the Georgia State Senate, Kim’s re-election reinforces her commitment to fighting for marginalized communities.

In Kentucky:
Emma Curtis achieved a groundbreaking victory for Lexington Lafayette Urban County Council District 4, representing a new wave of progressive leadership for the region.
