LPAC Congraluates Karine Jean-Pierre on Becoming the First LGBTQ and Black Woman to Serve as White House Press Secretary
Washington D.C., (May 6, 2022) – LPAC, the national political organization dedicated to electing more LGBTQ women to public office, congratulates Karine Jean-Pierre on the announcement that she will become the next White House Press Secretary. Jean-Pierre will make history as both the first first Black person and first openly LGBTQ person to hold this position.
“This is an important moment for our nation, and a notable step forward in representation for LGBTQ women and women of color in government,” said LPAC Executive Director Lisa Turner. “We applaud the achievement.”
We look forward to seeing Jean-Pierre take the podium as Press Secretary, and hope to see more milestones in LGBTQ women’s representation.
