Dana Nessel

Dana Nessel is running for re-election as Attorney General of Michigan in 2022.

Nessel was sworn in as Michigan’s 54th Attorney General in 2019. She was the second openly LGBTQ Attorney General in the United States. While in office Nessel has maintained a high profile by advocating for the citizens of Flint, suing the Trump Administration, and ensuring the independence and integrity of Michigan elections.

Prior to serving as Attorney General, Nessel was an Assistant Prosecutor and later attorney in private practice. She has long been an advocate for the LGBTQ community.
