Jasmine Beach-Ferrara

Jasmine Beach-Ferrara is running for election to North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District in 2022. She would be the first openly LGBTQ woman to represent the state in Congress.

Beach-Ferrara currently serves as a member of the Buncombe County Commission. She was first elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. Outside of elected office she is the founding Executive Director of the Campaign for Southern Equality, an LGBTQ advocacy organization that mobilizes against threats to equality in southern states.

Beach-Ferrara is running in an open seat as incumbent Rep. Madison Cawthorn lost his primary election. Her campaign is focused on ending the opioid epidemic and expanding services for mental health and addiction, expanding early childhood education, and the post-Covid economic recovery, including job creation, affordable housing, and rural broadband.
