Dawn Adams

Dr. Dawn M. Adams is running for the Virginia State Senate. She is currently in her third term in the House of Delegates. LPAC has endorsed Del. Adams in all of her elections. She is the first open lesbian elected to the Virginia Legislature.

Outside of politics, Adams is a nurse practitioner. She is the only Democratic clinician serving in the Legislature. She brings important expertise on healthcare issues to the caucus and has been the lead sponsor on many healthcare related bills.

In addition to her practice, Adams has been a registered nurse, access to care researcher, health advocate and most recently, the director for the Office of Integrated Health for the state’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
