Emily Dievendorf
Emily Dievendorf is a Democrat running for re-election to the Michigan State House of Representatives. They are the first out nonbinary person elected to the Michigan state legislature.
Dievendorf was first elected in 2022, winning an open seat with 62 percent of the vote. Before being elected to the House, Dievendorf enjoyed a long career in public service and advocacy, including serving as Executive Director for Equality Michigan.
For nearly a decade, Dievendorf worked in the Michigan House of Representatives for Democratic state legislators, including as chief of staff for Rep. Andy Coulouris. They also co-founded a nonprofit bookstore in downtown Lansing.
