Laurie Pohutsky
State Rep. Laurie Pohutsky is a Democrat running for re-election to the Michigan State House of Representatives.
Pohutsky was first elected in 2018 (flipping the seat), was re-elected in 2020 and 2022, and is now seeking her fourth term. She has been a champion for LPAC’s values in the legislature, including by introducing legislation to ban the gay and trans panic defense and to amend the state’s landmark civil rights law to include LGBTQ people. She currently serves as the Chair of the Progressive Women’s Caucus.
Pohutsky’s priorities are abortion access and reproductive justice, environmental justice, and civil rights.
