Jamika Scott

Jamika Scott is running for a seat on the Tacoma City Council in Washington.

Scott was born and raised in District 3 and currently works as a freelance creative writer and artist. In 2021, she ran for Mayor of Tacoma, receiving 12 percent of the vote. Scott serves on the Tacoma Public Library Foundation Board of Directors as well as the Tacoma Arts Commission.

Scott placed first in the five-way primary with 42 percent of the vote, to the second-place finisher’s 32 percent of the vote. She is focused on community safety, addressing the housing crisis, and expanding economic growth opportunities.
