Lane Santa Cruz is a Democrat running for re-election to the Tucson City Council in Arizona.

Santa Cruz was born and raised in Tucson. They earned their PhD in Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies at the University of Arizona. Before running for office, Santa Cruz worked as a council aide and spent over a decade working on issues related to gender violence, food justice, migrant rights, and ethnic studies. They were first elected in 2019 with 58 percent of the vote.

With a population of 542,000, Tucson is the second-largest city in Arizona and is located 60 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border. Santa Cruz is focused on housing, transportation, and workforce development. They won the Democratic primary with 63 percent of the vote.
