Janani Ramachandran

Janani Ramachandran is running for a seat on the Oakland City Council in California.

Ramachandran previously ran unsuccessfully in a 2021 special election for the California State Assembly. LPAC endorsed her in that race.

Ramachandran grew up in the East Bay and most recently worked as an attorney for the Family Violence Appellate Project. She has served as a Commissioner on the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs and the Oakland Public Ethics Commission.

Janani would be the youngest member of the Oakland City Council, as well as the first woman of South Asian descent to serve in the chamber.
