Khalilah Karim is running for a seat on the Durham City Council in North Carolina.

Karim has lived in Durham for nine years. Through her work with SEIU, she advocated for accessible childcare and living wages for all workers. For the past five years, Khalilah has worked with North Carolina League of Conservation Voters pushing back on climate change and the environmental impacts that hit Black and Brown communities the hardest.

Karim advanced from the 12-way October 10th primary in fourth place. She is focused on the economy, the environment, and fostering a sense of community.
