Lauranett Lee

Lauranett Lee is running for an open seat on the Chesterfield County School Board in Virginia.

Lee has been an educator and historian for more than 25 years. In 1965, she experienced first-hand the desegregation of Chesterfield's Schools, entering 4th grade at a previously all-white Midlothian school. Her teacher showed her that she did have a place in the classroom, despite the bullying and ostracization she experienced. This experience inspired her to become an educator.

Lee is focused on recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty and staff, increasing funding for additional student support, and keeping schools safe.
