Marcia Morey

Marcia Morey is a Democrat running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Morey was appointed to this State House seat in 2017 and elected to a full term in 2018 with 74% of the vote. She was re-elected in 2020 with 82% of the vote. She serves on the Appropriations, Education, Judiciary, and Transportation Committees. Prior to her appointment she was a State District Court Judge from 1999-2017, and previously was an assistant district attorney and the Executive Director of the Governor’s Commission on Juvenile Crime and Justice.

Her priorities are reproductive privacy and freedom, public and gun safety, and protecting voting rights and election integrity. She has been endorsed by Equality NC, NC AFL-CIO, Sierra Club, Progressive Voter Turnout Project, Lillian's List, and NC Advocates for Justice.
