Mo Jenkins

Mo Jenkins is a Democrat running for a Houston-area seat in the Texas House of Representatives.

Jenkins works in the state legislature for Democratic Representative Abel Herrero and serves as the Committee Director for the House Corrections Committee, where she works on criminal justice reform issues. She is the only out trans woman serving in a senior staff role in the Texas legislature.

Informed by life experiences including losing her mother at the age of 13 and experiencing homelessness, Jenkins is a tireless advocate for accessible and affordable healthcare, LGBTQ equality, and education. If elected, she would be the first out trans person elected to the Texas state legislature.
