Rosanna Herber

SMUD Board Member Rosanna Herber is a Democrat running for a Sacramento-area seat in the California State Assembly

Herber is the highest-ranking out LGBTQ elected official in the Sacramento region and the first out LGBTQ member to serve on the SMUD board. She was first elected to the SMUD Board in 2018, winning an open seat with 50 percent of the vote. Under her leadership, SMUD continues to lead the nation in removing all carbon from its power supply by 2030.

This is a solidly Democratic open seat that encompasses most of California’s capital city of Sacramento, and parts of the suburbs of Carmichael, Elverta, and Rio Linda. Herber is focused on the environment, housing, and education.
