Thu Nguyen

Thu Nguyen is running for re-election to an at-large seat on the Worcester City Council in Massachusetts.

Nguyen’s family immigrated to the U.S. at the age of one as refugees from Vietnam. In 2021, Nguyen became the first nonbinary person elected in Massachusetts history. They won the fourth out of six seats in that election by a 600 vote margin. Nguyen has worked as the director of a youth nonprofit. During the pandemic, Nguyen started an immigrant and refugee pantry and hot meals program.

Nguyen is focused on food security, racial justice, and housing issues.
