LPAC Endorses Dawn Adams for re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates
Washington, DC (May 28, 2019) – LPAC, the only organization dedicated to building LGBTQ women’s political voice, has endorsed Dawn Adams for reelection to Virginia’s House of Delegates. LPAC first endorsed Dawn Adams during her initial run for the role in 2017. Her victory in that race made her the first openly LGBTQ woman ever elected to Virginia’s House of Delegates.
“Dawn Adams is the ideal LPAC candidate -- she’s an LGBTQ woman who uses her platform to improve conditions for everyone in the state,” said Stephanie Sandberg, LPAC’s executive director. “Supporting her for a second time was a no-brainer.”
During her first term, Adams, a nurse practitioner, was instrumental in passing Medicaid expansion in the state. She is running for reelection with a campaign that focuses on expanding affordable healthcare even further, particularly as related to aging and to women’s health, strengthening the public education system, and growing jobs.
In addition to Adams, LPAC is endorsing Danica Roem for reelection to Virginia’s House of Delegates.
