March 12, 2025 –Today, LPAC, the nation’s only organization dedicated to advancing the political representation of LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary candidates, endorsed 16 out LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary candidates for state and local offices in 2025, and three out LGBTQ+ women for Congressional and statewide offices in 2026. This inspiring group of dynamic leaders includes lawyers, parents, teachers, community leaders, LGBTQ+ advocates, and mental health counselors.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we celebrate groundbreaking candidates in this slate including Delegate Marcia Price, the first Black LGBTQ woman elected to the Virginia House of Delegates; Councilmember Carmen Rivera, the first openly queer person, first Boricua, and youngest Latina elected to Renton City Council; Colorado State Rep. Brianna Titone, running for Colorado State Treasurer, who would be the first openly transgender statewide elected official in U.S. history; and JoAnna Mendoza, who would increase LGBTQ+ women’s representation in the U.S. House.
“Every LPAC-endorsed candidate shares our holistic values of LGBTQ+ and women’s equality, and each of this month’s candidates embody the impact of those values in action,” said Janelle Perez, Executive Director of LPAC. “In March, we honor Women’s History Month by looking to our history, celebrating the leaders fighting today for our rights, and looking to the future we all deserve. LPAC is proud to endorse these incredible leaders, and to see the change they will make for their states and communities.”
