LPAC Starts off 2025 with 6 Candidate Endorsements

Washington, D.C. –Today, LPAC, the nation’s only organization dedicated to advancing the political representation of LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary candidates, endorsed six out LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary candidates for state and local offices. This diverse group of leaders is committed to advancing equality, justice, and progressive values across the United States.

“Now more than ever, it’s critical that we champion LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary candidates,” said Janelle Perez, Executive Director of LPAC. “With this impressive slate, we’re starting 2025 off strong and sending the message along with our candidates that we’re here, we’re queer, and we’re ready to defend our rights.”

The endorsed candidates include Crystal Hudson, the first out gay Black woman ever elected in New York City and the author of A Black Agenda for New York City, Sol Kersey, who works with Equality Ohio Legal Clinic to provide essential legal services to LGBTQ+ Ohioans, and Erica Deuso, who could become the first-ever transgender Mayor of Downington, PA (and the second trans person ever elected in PA).
