Chauntyll Allen
Chauntyll Allen is running for a second term on the St. Paul Public School Board in Minnesota.
In 2019, Allen became the first out LGBTQ person elected to the St. Paul Public School Board, winning the fourth of four seats in a ten-way race with 14 percent of the vote. Before she was elected, Allen worked for 20 years as a paraprofessional in St. Paul Public Schools.
Allen ran for office with the goal of ending the school to prison pipeline and has spearheaded multiple policies in her time on the Board, including reintroducing technical education into schools, divesting from private prisons, and introducing ethnic studies into the curriculum.
