Sylvia Swayne

Sylvia Swayne is running in a special election for an open seat in the Alabama House of Representatives. If elected, she would be the first trans person elected in Alabama.

Swayne was born and raised in Alabama, and has lived in Birmingham for the past five years. She attended the University of Alabama before entering the tech industry. After witnessing so much anti-LGBTQ legislation being introduced in the state legislature, Swayne decided to run for office to represent her community in an office that has never had trans representation.

Swayne is focused on economic opportunity, voting rights, and public safety
