Marcia Price

Delegate Marcia Price is running for re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates as the only Black LGBTQ state legislator in Virginia.

Price was first elected in 2015 with 77 percent of the vote. District 85 covers parts of the city of Newport News, located just north of Virginia Beach. District 85 is solidly Democratic and voted for Democrat Terry McAuliffe by 31 points in the 2021 gubernatorial election.

Price was born and raised in the district and is a graduate of Spelman College and Howard University. She has worked as a state coordinator for the NAACP for voter registration, education, and mobilization. Price is focused on voting rights, gun violence prevention, and affordable housing.
