LPAC Mourns and Remembers Cecile Richards

Today, LPAC, the only organization in the U.S. working to elect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer women and nonbinary people, responded to news that former Planned Parenthood President and longstanding reproductive rights advocate Cecile Richards has died.

“Cecile Richards led us forward as a movement, and as a nation,” said Janelle Perez, Executive Director of LPAC. “In her leadership of Planned Parenthood, she fought against brutal attacks to reproductive freedom and kept fighting for all people to have access to the life-saving services they need. It is poignant that today, as we witness Donald Trump sworn in as the 47th President of the U.S., we honor the memories of Cecile, Dr. King, and all who have fought through the years for justice, freedom and equality.”
